My Man
Once a boy took my hand and before my eyes became a man
It started by the riverside at a special place where we would hide
And as we watched the river flow, slowly our love began to grow
That summer I began to see the man that boy could be for me
As autumn came and summer past I knew that this love would last
No other boy could hold me tight, or make me dream all through the night
No other love would be the same, or keep me warm when winter came
Sitting with him by the fire only filled me with desire
Only a man could touch so tender or fill my soul with such splendor
Winter began to fade away with promise of a green spring day
And summer than came again greeting us like a long lost friend
And now we sit by the river side at the place we used to hide
I see the boy he used to be, the one who fell in love with me
And I see the man that I know, the one with love I overflow
