With a heart like yours,
Insipid ice melting to the core,
You’re bound to face a dilemma,
In feeling anything at all,
I understand your pain,
Her rough edges ripped you apart, my dear.
You were openly ravaged,
And your innocence fed her hungry soul.
Your scars have long healed,
Soft pink tissue, visible to only those who see
But you have not healed,
You wake drenched in sweat each night,
And I have a single lingering curiosity,
Because I love you, and can’t stop loving you.
If I kissed you where it’s sore
Gently caressed your every pore with my tender mouth,
Would you feel better?
Would your pain subside with my cool touch?
Would you feel better?
Would your gaping wounds begin to stitch themselves together?
Would you feel anything at all?
