Promises
I sit and stare
I've gone through my speech.
I've done what I needed
What I came
To do.
You're still speechelss
Staring off another way
I glance up
See tears
And I have to go
I have to get away.
But before I do
I mutter a little thing
About a promise we once made
Not so long before.
A reminder
- for if you love me
And care for what's best
For me
You'll try not to make this harder
than it already has to be -
To keep that promise
Leave yourself alone
Push.
HARD
Through the pain
And leave
Physically
Untouched
