July 28
Sharing a pillow forehead to forehead,
Hands quietly
TAP TAP TAPPING
A Morse code message for
“I love you”
On to cold hands
And warm hearts
With lightening flashing
through the windshield.
And tonight, our dreams will be shared,
Walking from my mind to yours
On dancing toes
With quiet steps.
Our breaths intermingling together
Before being drawn back in
Between smiling lips.
But all too soon
The sun will rise,
Casting canyons and valleys
Of light and shadows
Across your gentle face
And our dreams
Will cease walking
When you open your eyes.
