August 10, 2012
A boat
Worn out, from years of service
Comes to rest.
If you were to row him
He would creak
But here, here he is silent
As the cemetery.
He is not alone
Though he looks it
The water is his friend
She comforts him
When he wishes
For old times
For she does not miss them
She is comfortable
With her life
With her friends
The boat
The old dock
The sky
Her old friends
They will rest together
For eternity

I found this to be a very well-written poem. Great job. I'm not usually a poetry person, so it's actually pretty rare for me to enjoy a piece of poetry. Good job :)

This poem tells me of a boat, worn and old by time- its beauty, ever since it was made, was that he was fused with lady nature. This poem is calm, still, a clear reflection of the image before you. This poem is good because of that, according to our normal sense of aesthetic, this might not be the best. But to that image, it is a locked treasure. Those small moments- you have learned to recognize the everyday beauties in them. It is this poem, along with several others that keeps this beauty going. Keep on writing my friend, this reflection is worthwhile.

I really like this poem especially the last few lines! I love how you gave them personalities and how the water is a she and the boat is like an old man. This is a great original poem!
