Blood wells up from the wounds
That will never heal
You clutch your dying heart
as it slowly weakens
Open your eyes
And see the light
Old wounds ache
Though new loves
Heal the tattered remains
Of your soul
Watch the wound scar
and heal the best it can
The darkness doesn't last forever
Just let in the light
