Drawn in the Sand
Swish, swish.
She felt the water cascade over her feet.
The gentle lapping of the waves had a calming effect on her.
Nothing in the world mattered when she was here.
This was her place.
Her own special sanctuary.
Nothing could disturb her.
Peace.
That is all she felt.
A sudden autumn breeze brushed across her cheek.
She looked up momentarily and saw him.
Adam?
No answer.
Adam? Is that you?
He smiled and gestured her to come to him.
She broke out into a full sprint and leapt into his arms.
She fell.
Flat on her face.
She opened her eyes and looked around.
He was gone.
In his place was a heart, drawn neatly in the sand.
