that's what you said to me
as the colour of your
face was drained away
and replaced by white
Goodbye, I love you
as you slipped beneath
the waves, leaving me to
make for the shore alone
Goodbye, I love you
as your hand dropped
from mine
as your eyes dropped
from mine
Goodbye, I love you
as cold overtook your
body, causing me to
shiver
You died before
I could say
it back
So I'll say it now
Goodbye, I love you
