Yet again another doctor’s visit,
Yet again another shot in the arm
Yet again another blood pressure cuff
Yet again another drop of sweat down my brow
Yet again another sit in the waiting room
Yet again another hospital gown
Yet again another IV that painfully scrapes at my skin
Yet again another time to wait for the doctor to pull my chart
Yet again another trip to the OR for surgery
Yet again another time to be put to sleep as a dog who’s lived to many years
Yet again another time to fall asleep when counting back from 10
Yet again another time to be sliced open by someone I don’t know
Yet again another time to worry will I make it out ok
Yet again another time to deal with a disease that has killed many
Yet again the cancer is back.
