my mother's doubts.

Her doubt is uninterrupted
you have proved to me
and now my mother
and she has welcomed you into the family
and her desire for you to stay
and her apprehension
i banished
because she bought four hooks
and there are three of us
because she expects you next holiday
and the holidays long after
as you were here for this one.
but at first she corrected herself
and paused and cocked her head
and then she shook
and reminded herself
of your desire to stay.
not only have you won my heart
but the heart of my mother
