What If?
I stand in the middle of the road
Two futures ahead and the path behind
And I realize I must make a choice
The path to the left or the path to the right?
I walk nearer and see the decision is close
Time is forcing me on
And I come to decide at last.
With a twist of my foot, I turn left
I follow the narrow, straight, dirt road.
Look back into darkness
And then to the light
Now, the past fades out of sight
But I wonder...
What if I had turned right?
