Gone.
I look out and wonder
I think and dream
Stretch my hand out
For something out of reach
I’m a walking head
A moving mass
Just going through the motions
I’m a shell
Hollow and cold
Empty and baron
There’s no life in this womb
There’s no spark in my eyes
There’s no life in these hands
Just empty
Vast space for miles and miles
Clear of any difference
Clear of any newness
Clear of any freshness
I’m a skeleton of what was
Facts have sent dreams away
Reality has stolen my naivety
The worlds no fairy tale
The worlds a holocaust
Everyone’s getting attacked
Hated blamed persecuted
Good things flea
And I want to join them
Where has joy gone
Hope where did you go
Dreams you abandoned me
They flee for fear of being crushed
They are now refugees
There cowards
Well I am here
Left to the genocide
I know I’m next
I hear the soldiers come
I know I’m done
There’s no superhero
Fairy godmother
Or knight in shining armor
Just
Blood
Pain
Death
Dreams are for the youth
Hope is for the blind
Joy is left for the simpleton
Reality is what’s left for us
