I really wish I could just tell you no.
That I can't do it anymore,
That I have more respect,
For her and for myself.
I wish I could stay made at you.
That way I didn't forget how much
Pain you caused, even if you fix
The darkest demons within me.
To just walk away
And wipe my hands clean of our mess.
To have it fade into a distant path
One I veered off on only to correct
Back onto a better road.
If only.
But that would mean that
We don't fit together
We aren't best friends
We didn't take the biggest leap.
