Childhood is when the world feels like good place

when the universe about playing and toys

it should be a time of innocence

Not to be taken away like Freeman did.

Childhood is trusting adults

looking up to your mom and dad

knowing that they are there for you

not being sent away like Maya and Bailey.

Childhood is a time to enjoy

Being happy and safe

childhood is about feeling free

not like a caged bird.

Childhood is a time when you couldn't wait for a birthday

childhood is a time lived in dreams

when everyone appears to be a friend

childhood knows no racism, unlike the town of Stamps.

Childhood is a time when life is full of color

it is filled with family and friends.

it is a time of love and having a place to call home.

not being shuffled from place to place like the Johnson kids.

Childhood is it is crayons and storybooks

it is wishing you were older

but not having to grow up

not like Maya had to grow up.

Childhood will never come back.
