Winter Children
The children of winter
Are fiery despite the cold
And in the summer
Have the chills when lying in the sun
Only we appreciate the way the snow falls
And how late at night
It twinkles under the street light
Only we can understand how it feels to feel more powerful
And full of life when the wind is blowing and our hands our numb
We are special in our own way
Like a snowflake drifting from the Heavens
We are the rulers of everything that becomes frozen
And we harness the power of the night
Children of the Winter
Oversee the realm of snow
And call it their home
And when it melts away
Their hearts ache for another
Two hundred and sixty something days
