I wouldn’t be late, my darling
For time stops for no one

And the clock is the one thing
That cannot be deceived
By your blinding smile

It knows not the difference between God and the Devil
So why would it know the difference between you and I?

It is smarter than both of us
For it knows not to care
Only to move forward

Oh, how I’ve let you chain me to the track life’s race is run on
But these chains are only illusions of the mind

Because no matter how slowly we run
Or how hard we try
There’s nothing that can stop us from moving towards the finish line

Haven’t I told you before, my darling?
The clock stops for no one
And certainly not for you
