Puppy Dog Eyes
Look at you go,
You think you’re so powerful.
You think you can walk through life,
And nothing can make you fall.
You’re a work of art,
And I’m a clown.
I’m a wandering stranger,
You’re the cutest pup in town.
How do you do it,
I don’t know.
You never lose,
And we never say no.
You want me back,
But you’re so full of lies.
It gets everyone else,
But you’ll never get me with those puppy dog eyes.
All my life you have fooled me,
I fell to my knees and served you.
Held the gun to my face,
Because it’s something you do.
My weakness is that I love too much,
It’s been your ally.
Shredding and burning me every day,
As you walk on by.
Then I finally realized the truth,
You crumble to your knees.
My power is your weakness,
No longer shall you tease.
Like how a reflection shows in the mirror,
Your strength is only lies.
You may have beat everyone else,
But you’ll never get me with those puppy dog eyes.
