Blood everywhere
Spilling on the ground
Filling the sidewalk cracks
Running in little streams
Crisscrossing paths
Gushing from arms
Hemorrhaging the world’s pain
Trickling down a wrist
Spreading in puddles on the concrete below
Where the children splash and play in
Until there is a day
When rain will fall and
Water shall wash away the rain
They continue to play in blood pools
Staining their fingernails red
Tattooing their skin scarlet
