The Catcher

deep in his eyes,
a brilliant light,
on his face,
a beautiful smirk,
caged in by a mask,
so no one can see,
his emotions are potent,
and he knows more than most.
he’s waiting for the right moment,
to unveil his secrets,
to someone that can understand them,
someone he trusts to follow through.
he puts his knowledge on the line,
for the person with the ball.
