Nobody Cared
It was all fine then,
Everyone smiled,
Everyone were friends,
Everyone colored,
And it was ok to color out of the lines
One day at school,
I managed to write my name,
Carefully scribbled,
Onto thick lined paper,
My mom smiled,
Hung it up on the refrigerator
People cared,
Cared about life,
Cared about friends,
Cared about me,
And it was ok to color out of the lines
One day after school,
I brought home,
A perfect score math test,
100 simple questions,
Answers scribbled onto a print out,
Addition and subtraction
My mom smiled
It was still ok,
Ok to trip over your feet,
Ok to wear the wrong clothes,
Ok to be yourself,
And it was ok to color out of the lines
One day after school,
I figured out,
That I got all A’s,
Perfectly printed onto,
