The Garden
Pillars of stone, rusty gates slightly ajar
hanging on hinges, almost spent with decay.
Statues of the gods, cloaked in vines and some moss
broken from years of wear.
Weeds, untamed, unkept
choking the once stunning flowers.
Fountains that once spewed water all over
sparkling in the sunlight, flowing no more.
Trees that are massive and strong; now rotting and dying
fallen branches are now littering the ground.
