Time won't stop for a red light nor slow down for a yellow
Birds start singing their tunes
the alarms start sounding and buzzing
the crisp sun rays are beaming through green pines
in the east the sun is rising
the light stays green
Time won't stop for a red light nor slow down for yellow
9:00 p.m rolls around on the highway
the radio playing, theres a father, a husband, homebound
headlights blaring through the windshield of the car
now somewhere a phone rings and now a new widow and bastard
the light will stay green
