What Lays Below
The cynical raven perches itself upon the distorted ebony. Caskets painted charcoal under a withered tarp; blossomed flowers overlay. An eerie mist placates the forgiving air. The moon glistens in the frigid wind. Eyes transfixed on forgotten souls, their names carved in stone. Their spirits ferried to another realm; dark smudges pile upon their graves. Body upon body encased in dirt, adding to the thousands sleeping below. Their quintessence drained until there is nothing left.
