Stereotypical American Dream
Hello: to a mother, father, brother, and sister
A white fence guarding freshly cut grass
High school, college, hats up in the air
A rose, a boy, young love, one knee, a fiancé
White dress, black suit, together forever, I do
A mother, father, brother, and sister
Bonjour: to sparkling caverns, held up water, snow covered sand
Four states in one moment, deep canyons, and shots of fiery water
Bays and lakes full of ice, bright lava flowing, A Forest colored red
Ruins preserved, high up places beckoning to climb, Our father’s faces carved forever
Hola: to victories we’ve worked so hard to achieve
Equality between men, women, white, black, and almost straight, and gay
Television, sports, music, movies, and art
Terrorists found and brought to justice
Setting records like no other
Wars won and freedom celebrated
Architecture, fashion, education, diversity, dreams to reality
Privet: to no more tragedies striking our nations like
Planes never under our control destroying the twins
A dreamer shot for that same reason
A harbor from the mouth of a clam under attack
Fierce leaders gone too soon
Mother Nature devastating our communities
A vessel intended for space never made it
Twenty six little souls to remember
Many more we don’t want to replay
Konnichiwa: to all the possibilities
Artists, authors, actors, singers, stars
Navy, Marines, Air force, Army, soldiers
Scientists, doctors, scholars, inventors, geniuses
Police officers, fire fighters, lifeguards, heroes
Mayor, governor, senator, President, dreamers
Ni Hao: to going the distance
Overseas gunfire keeping us safe
Cultures from all over lay down in one place
From nothing to everything
Chances to succeed every year
Study hard and dream big
Life liberty and the pursuit of happiness
