I Remember That September Day
I remember that September day.
I remember the teaches crying and giving us all hugs.
I remember how confused I felt,
And how I was called to the school office not knowing what I did wrong.
I remember hearing my mom crying… the school counselor trying to comfort her.
I remember glancing over at the tv that was on ABC News,
Pictures of two buildings slowly falling… then bursting into flames.
I remember screaming because that was my Daddy’s work building.
Daddy… if you’re reading this,
Even though it was three years ago I still miss you.
I remember you always telling me that you loved me and that I’m your sunshine and the Princess of your world.
I miss you … and so does mommy.
But I know you’re with the angels.
I know that you’ll hug me again someday… and that I have to be strong for mom and carry on.
I remember you telling me that we need to forgive people after they hurt us or the ones we love, because God forgave us.
I forgive the men who hurt you Daddy… On that September day.
