Keeping Happiness
Maybe if I hold my laughter,
 maybe if I put it in a jar;
 I could take it out when i’m unhappy.
 People would think i’m crazy.
 I could picture it perfectly.
 I could see me clothed in my leather jacket.
 Floral print leggings hanging under it like a sloth.
 Then i see my unhappiness, slowly pouring over my face.
 I see my hands reaching inside somewhere-
 what is it? Air?
 I took a jar out of thin air?
 Then I hold it at my waist, looking down at it. Unscrew it.
 Then a whole bunch of laughter bouncing out, hitting my forehead,
 poking me in the eye.
 But laughter soon fades. Happiness goes away.
 Flies over to someone else.
 So I sit.
 And ponder a different idea for keeping happiness
 alive.
