Sunlight Kisses
Speckled black and blue
Pain pulled around you
Down the spine and spread out over the back and ribs
Pain wrapped around in an unending circle
Never stopping for a moment
Then comfort as sunlight kissed the battered flesh
Bright and blinding was the first glance at the sun
Ebbing pain faded away into sunlight kisses that began to sting
And short lived comfort passed again into never ending pain
Never to be comforted by sunlight kisses again
