You used to ask me why i was (sad)
and I used to reply with half hearted smiles
and I’m fines
but I listened to empty (songs)
with pretty lyrics
that you used to tell me
(remind)ed you of the place we first met
and I pretended that you were
falling apart without (me)
but like always I was
head over heels,
stuck in a s(of)t, translucent world
with only fading memories
of (you)

I love your use of parenthesis, especially because it has a meaning in it when you put the words together.
