If you want to hold my heart
I should warn you
Be careful
It's fragile
My heart is wounded
Covered in scars
From the battles of life,
The punctures of pain,
The stabs of hurt,
The wrinkles of worry,
And the slashes of backstabbers

If you hold my heart
Careful of your hold
You may just open old wounds
Ones that never truly healed
Or maybe you will add your own mark

If you want to hold my heart
Be careful
