Life's not always fair. Sometimes you can get a splinter even sliding down a rainbow - Terri Guillemets

I wonder why she feels so alone
Like a sole raindrop on a single rose petal
Like a stranded cloud away from all the others
Like a lone star never to be seen
A girl crying with tears welling up from beneath.

I wonder why she feels so alone
Like a lone bird in a cage
Like a petal caught in a breeze
Like a song that was never sang
A girl keeping quiet though she has friends.

I wonder why she feels so alone
Like a glass full of emptiness
Like a fish lost in sea’s vastness
Like a violin unused
A girl with a heart with anguish infused.

She is always silent.
So how are they supposed to listen?
