If sarcasm were a lover, it’d love you
As no one else;
Always pointing out your flaws in a way
That you’d think you’re still
Perfect—
And isn’t that true?
That the most caring of lovers see each other’s
Flaws,
And still acknowledge the beauty in them,
However tarnished?
Sarcasm would not sugar coat the truth,
And I think that’s why,
In a way,
Such a dishonest form of humor is really
The most honest
And love could learn a little something
From that.

Sarcasm, along with writing, is my only lover. It never hides the truth from me. I love the incorporation of the rhetorical questions. It makes the reader think about the poem a little more than just skim through it. And I enjoy the personification imbued with the metaphor of Sarcasm as a lover. Great poem, Jade. (Sorry for taking forever to read your poem. I'm the worst moe on this earth. That's why Sarcasm is my only amor.)

Why didn't this get a red check mark? Don't the editors know that you don't have to use a doctor's vocabulary to get your point across in such a witty way that it deserves to be put in the magazine, let alone get a red check mark? Wow, awesome job! I love how you're so original with your concepts and can effectively make your point in a simple, beautiful way. Excellent job! :D

Love this! You've taken a concept and run with it and scored. I really like your interpretation of sarcasm as true honesty, and how we could all be a little more honest with each other. Great piece!
