Black Canvas
I can see the two beating red circles on the black canvas
As the white lines coming down from them get more profound.
There's a space under each circle which makes it seem as though
The spheres are sunken in; engraved in this broad canvas deeper than it should be.
Every part of what I see instills passion, anger, sadness
And any other emotion you can think of. The delicate and intricate details
That makes this canvas unique draws you in and causes you to gaze upon it even more. This black canvas is the face of our beautiful black women.
Crying or happy the beauty is still there it just has to be seen.
No one can tell you how to feel about yourself, but you can allow them
To influence your own opinion of yourself. Instead of being influenced
In a bad way just remember that you are the beautiful black canvas
Who can paint herself to be whoever she wants. Eventually someone
Will wipe away the stains from the tears you cried, make those sunken red eye
Pop back to life so you can gaze at yourself as the beautiful woman you are,
And make your heart sing for joy because someone sees the true beauty in you.
But until then remember that you are your own canvas so grab a brush and paint
What makes you feel beautiful my already beautiful black woman.
