Trapped
I sit in the corner quiet and polite
I've trapped myself inside this cage of rules
Locked my true self away and tossed the key
I scream at myself but nothing happens
I rage inside while I smile politely
Despite my best efforts I remain locked inside
Waiting for something to set me free even if its for a minute
My anger simmers just below
Like water barley boiled
Bubbles rising to the top
I wait for the release anger will bring
Because in the wake I’ll be trapped again
Behind my wall of politeness while my beast rages inside.
