Fortress
I’m swaying here
On my balcony up high
Contemplating if I could
Maybe fly
The breeze could take me
Away from my tower
From my pretend paradise
From the love with a price
If my prince doesn’t come
Or if he forgets to take me on his horse
I’ll close my eyes
And find a new source
Of happiness and peace
I’m lonely up here
By my window of hope
My dress is shredded
And in deep scarlet it’s soaked
This castle is seeming
More and more like a prison
A nightmare
My fortress is crumbling
And my hands are cold
This fairy tale I’m spinning
Just doesn’t want to be told
