The Drive
Do we ever really know
Where the road of life will take us
 What obstacles
 Or detours
It will put in our way,
Do we ever really know where we will end up
Or who we will end up with
 The truth is
 We never really know
 Some pretend
 Others just accept
That they are in a car
 Heading into the unknown
Some swerve out of control, and crash
And they are left trying to
Pick up the pieces of their mangled lives
 Others transform
And they have a new take on the drive
 Others are too afraid
To even look out the windows at the beauty,
 As their lives flash by
 Me?
I don’t know what kind of driver I am,
 Yet.
All I know is I intend to
 Roll my windows down
Feel the strong breeze blow through my hair
 And enjoy
 The drive
