Alone in the World
I am alone in the world,
No one to care or to hold me
When I cry
When I smile
When I laugh
Or when I fall.
They all leave me.
They think I like it,
Being alone in the world,
But they are wrong.
I like discovering
Myself
Without distractions
Worries,
Or fears,
I like finding myself,
Not being all alone in the world.
It is a cruel place,
The world,
It swallows you up
Whether you want it to or not,
And spits you back out without no warning.
Most people fall and get right back up,
But I fell hard;
And the world just stood there,
Stared at me.
I was alone.
And I needed help.
No one came for me;
No one helped me;
And I begged
I cried
But they still just leave me here,
Thinking that I like it,
Being alone in the world.
They look at me
Like I’m trash,
Like I’m nothing.
Is it true?
Am I nothing?
Just empty space?
Please,
Someone,
Tell me it is not true.
Help me understand that I am not
Alone in the world.
But of course,
No one will answer me.
Answer my prayers,
I wanted to make myself believe,
I wanted to see something different,
But Death always deceives you,
And I am truly alone in the world;
And will always just be that.
