Balloons
For something so sweet,
So tasteful in measure,
Disguised as a poison,
Something you dread.
Hiding in shadows,
It comes out at night.
The lies they claim about the light are all
Untrue.
Monsters that lie
Under your bed,
No longer extinct,
Are something you dread.
Something so sweet,
More modest than tasteful
Are the deadliest gases
In the balloon.
