The Fire
The fire eats up my home
Hungry, ravenous
Hot, burning
Orange flames lick my skin painfully
Charring my flesh
I cry as I rush out of the burning
My house
Outside the sky explodes
Blood blankets the ground
An abstract of red death and despair
Tears stain my cheeks
No one notices
A cry erupts from deep inside me
No one cares
I'm not the only one like this
The war of the world rages on
But there will never be a victor
