This neglect surfaces
A carefully kindled fire on my hands
Discarding a faultless
Love it remembers
Generous secret laughter
And early morning hugs
Squeezed between pre-coffee
Ambiguous conversation
Of last night’s dreams
I then resurface to
My duct-taped
Heart.
