Daydreams and Nightmares
I’m feeling a little lazy
This math is making me hazy
My teacher say’s I’ll figure it out
But then again, she’s crazy
I stare off into space
Oblivious to the look on my face
I like staring into the abyss
Even if I seem like a disgrace
My mom tells me to pay attention
I wish she would’ve mentioned
When I don’t listen in class
I’ll often wind up in detention
That school stuff doesn’t interest me
No matter what subject it may be
Geometry won’t help me later in life
But for some reason, they don’t see
It’s been a whole ten minutes now
I don’t think I’ve blinked yet
The clock on the wall keeps ticking
This detention I’m starting to regret
I can space out in class just fine
But here it just ain’t working
I’m starting to think of crazy things
Like Miley Cyrus twerking
Please get this out of my head
I’m feeling a little sick
The walls are screaming, “RUN!”
My pen continues to click
I’ll always pay attention!
I’ll do what I need to do!
I’ll be the best student ever
As long as this detention is through
