A Little Roman Girl
A little Roman girl watches the fire from a distance.
The men strive to put it out, but lack proper equipment.
And so it burns.
Her civilization’s greatest achievement
Crumbles into ashes.
The library.
And as each book burns
Souls shoot out in every direction.
Because as the documents die
Their existence
Dies with them.
