The six of us ventured behind Davis Middle School
We knew we had to have been breaking some rule
towards my untimely death
We approached the fence, wooden and old
and slipped through its hole, then into the cold
towards my untimely death
We went to play down by the creek
for games like tag or hide-and-go-seek
towards my untimely death
but the water was not deep enough for our plans of fun
so we went further down the creek, and began to run
towards my untimely death
Soon we approached a tunnel where the water was deep
and my sister slipped and fell so I followed with a leap
towards my untimely death
I watched her go under but not resurface
and then I knew I had to serve my purpose
towards my untimely death
I dove under after her, and eventually brought her back
but after a while, my vision turned to black
towards my untimely death

I spotted a man run into the tunnel with a flashlight
and capture my sister in his line of sight
after my untimely death
Soon divers plunged in and rescued her
and rushed her to the hospital to find a cure
after my untimely death
By the time our grandmother heard about it
I had become no more than a spirit
after my untimely death
She was so shocked she was hospitalized too
and my sister has 72 hours to determine if she will pull through
after my untimely death
I was eleven years old, and my sister seven,
and both our parents had already gone to heaven
after my untimely death
As I watch over my sister, I pray she will be okay
and maybe teach kids a lesson about careless horseplay
because of my untimely death
