Two-Tone Poem
Sometimes I am tangerine orange-
full of laughter
and joy,
with the energy of red,
and the happiness of yellow.
enjoying the company of others.
But other times I am rainy-day grey-
self-conscious
and lonely,
being as quiet as a mouse,
reserved and to myself
preferring to be in the dark.
Both are pure opposites,
but both are entirely me.
