Believe me
I wanted to tell you
I was too far
from this "okay"
they spoke of,
but when the words reached my gentle lips
they were fragile like glass :
shattering and cutting
my tongue
they left me speechless
like stars at best.

The author's comments:
This piece holds the reason I began writing. My first poem. I read this aloud to several classes at my school and gave multiple speeches and statements about my previous expierences with bullying. Later, I was awarded Hometown Hero for showing everyone what being bullied can put you through.
