letter to the girl who broke you
when i first met her
she was still in love with you.
it would only be a few months
until you'd tear out her heart and run
but she will love you even then.
but it is a dangerous love.
like a deadman's razor
long gone but still sharp.
you keep cutting into her
though she does most of the cutting now.
i heard you left her for a boy.
lets hope he does not bleed as easily.
she would never love me.
one does not love the bandage they wrap their wounds in
even though it would shield them from the world
for as long as they'd let it.
but i guess i bled through and she threw me away.
a girl who is broken sees too many bandages anyway.
but you were always different.
like surgery.
doesn't matter if it was a botched job
when someone goes in so deep
it's hard to forget.
so it's been a year
and she still writes about you.
it used to be lines but
they're paragraphs now.
she writes them hoping you'll notice.
maybe when you come back
to see the mess you've made
because s***
you did one hell of a job.
so yeah
i've heard a lot about you.
i doubt she's mentioned me.
