Leave With You
I heard the news that you were leaving us
I asked if I can go too but they said you weren’t coming back
Went to my room and slammed the door
I let my tears hit my pillow like bullets
Then the day came for me to say my goodbyes
I walked down the aisle to see you
Starring in your casket told me that was not you
When they told me you were leaving
I didn’t think it would be so soon
All I’d ever wanted was to go with you
To keep you company on your long journey
I have wrote this poem right here in school
All I truly wanted was to be with you
I asked can I go with you
They didn’t tell me you had left so soon
I wished that you could’ve taken me
Because you said it was always just going to be me and you
So I thought me and you would be forever
But it wasn’t
It was just too soon for me to pack my bags
And say my goodbyes
Now all I could do is grieve in your absence
But because I’m still here
Your legacy will live on through my presence
All I wanted was to leave with you
But sometimes me and you can’t always be there physically
It was words that just hit me emotionally
When the day comes for me to see you again
This time I will ask can I leave with you
