Comic Book Hero
From a clear cloth he was cut
Right was right
Left was left.
True to himself and his values was he
Full of adventure and laughter
With a dash of compassion too-
Was a man of honest love
Raised to be a man as best as you could.
When energy raced through him
It bounced off others as well
Creating a cosmic reaction of fate.
I will always remember:
Snow at Christmas,
Hound Dog at the fire,
A promotion mistaken
For graduation. And
stories of an incredible life-
A good, full life, and
the most American way he lived.
To Grandpa Joe I raise my glass-
And I’ll drink one for him
When I turn 21.
