Naive
It seems I have swam my way
through an ocean of apologies,
all the way back to you.
Some may call this hopelessly naive,
but, as a rule, that is what I am.
Ours is a love like none other
and when you bring my head up
and kiss my gently inside your car
with the rain knocking at the windows,
I cannot help but return the favor.
It has been so long since I have
felt your silent body in a warm embrace
that it feels like a soft cosmic gift.
Don't let it go again.
