the reaper

the glass screeches as he drags his nails
across your window
December's chill creeps in and wraps
around your throat
he hears the floor creak as you shake
beneath your bed
he smells your skin rotting
footsteps
getting louder
he's getting closer
it stops
turn around! he's right next to you!
you try to scream but he reaches
down your throat and rips out
your soul
he leans over to whisper a
fluttering kiss on your cold lips
the reaper is here
