like everyone else

i admired you
from the very start
even if you didn't notice.
i liked the way
you laughed at jokes
that nobody else understood,
the way you had to make sure
that your hair looked perfect
on picture day.
there was something about you,
and for a short moment,
i had that all to myself;
but now
you're just
like everyone else.
